The Chief Minister, Bhajanlal Sharma, emphasized on Saturday that farmers are the backbone of the nation and represent the soul of India. He noted that it is the relentless effort of farmers in their fields that ensures food reaches our tables.
During a state-level event held in Nadbai, Bharatpur, Sharma transferred approximately ₹718 crores as the fourth installment of the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme to around 7.2 million farmers in the state.
He remarked that the term 'Annadata' signifies the respect, dignity, and importance of farmers in society.
Sharma stated, “When our farmers thrive, the nation and the state will also prosper. Therefore, the state's 'double-engine' government is tirelessly working for the prosperity of farmers.” According to an official statement, he mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme with the belief that farmers are paramount and for their welfare.
He added that the Rajasthan government provides an additional ₹3,000 to farmers under the Chief Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, which is separate from the ₹6,000 offered annually under the central scheme. The Chief Minister noted that so far, over 7 million farmers have received ₹1,355 crores under this initiative.
